A personal and professional turn
Bárbara de Regil made a decision that marks her future: not to have more children to dedicate herself completely to her career. “I decided not to have more children because they were going to take up my time. I already have Mar and what I want is to work: act, direct, drive, I want everything,” she confessed.
This approach has led her to accept disruptive roles, far from stereotypes. The most emblematic is Rosario Tijeras, a character who is now entering her fifth season on Netflix.
Rosario Tijeras: fifth season and new challenges
In this installment, Rosario faces her worst enemy: her daughter Rubí (Samantha Acuña). Together with “El Ángel” (Sebastián Martínez), he seeks a plan to regain power within organized crime. De Regil, who is also a producer on seasons four and five, says she has been free to suggest changes to the script. “I know Rosario Tijeras more than anyone, because I am the only one who has remained in this project. Everything is to add up and I know what the public wants.”
The character demands more every time. To give realism to the action scenes, he trained Krav Maga and Jiu-Jitsu. “I do the action scenes because the public deserves to see Rosario fighting… plus I love being like a Mexican Batman,” he joked.
