Andrea Meza assumes a strategic role in Miss Universe 2025
The Mexican Andrea Meza, winner of Miss Universe 2020, returns to the prestigious international pageant, but this time with a fundamentally different function: she will be a member of the panel of judges for the election of the new sovereign in the 2025 edition, which will be held in Thailand. This appointment represents a significant evolution in her career within the universe of beauty pageants, moving from contestant to evaluator, a transition that few former titleholders make.
The model and software engineering graduate, who is already in the Asian nation for the final preparations for the event, explained in an exclusive interview for the Telemundo network the comprehensive nature of her new responsibilities. “My job consists of meticulously evaluating each phase of the process, from the preliminary stages to the final, to finally contribute with my perspective and experience in the collective decision to choose the new queen,” declared Meza. Their participation adds a layer of depth to the jury, bringing the unique understanding of someone who has experienced the process from the inside.
The rigorous evaluation process and the criteria of the former queen
Andrea Meza explained that the candidates will be subjected to an exhaustive selection process composed of multiple critical stages. These include private interviews, where intelligence, communication skills and personal projects are measured; the presentations in evening attire, evaluating elegance and bearing; and the swimsuit rounds, which value physical condition and confidence. Based on her own experience having worn the crown, the Chihuahua native has very defined criteria about what she is looking for in the next Miss Universe: a woman with a charismatic and undeniable presence, with a clear life mission and deep self-knowledge. “I’m looking for a woman who, when entering a space, has the innate quality of capturing attention immediately and positively,” he stated with authority.
The representative of Mexico traveled to Thailand accompanied by Jacky Bracamontes, as part of Telemundo’s special coverage team, consolidating an important Mexican presence in both the organization and transmission of the global event.
The grand finale and the Mexican representation in the contest
The grand final of the Miss Universe 2025 pageant is scheduled to take place in the majestic Impact Arena in Pak Kret, Thailand, on November 21. However, for the audience in Mexico and other American countries, the television broadcast will adjust to the time difference, so it can be seen in prime time on November 20. At the conclusion of the lavish ceremony, the current titleholder, the Danish Victoria Kjaer Theilving, will comply with the traditional protocol of crowning her successor. On this occasion, Mexico’s eyes will be on Fátima Bosch, the Tabasco representative whose participation has been marked by controversy after publicly denouncing mistreatment by the director of Miss Universe Thailand, Nawat Itsaragrisil, an event that has added a touch of tension and additional expectation to the Mexican participation in this prestigious international contest. The synergy between Meza’s experience as a judge and Bosch’s resilience as a contestant creates a fascinating narrative for the Mexican delegation.
