The Ministry of Health in Sonora urges the population to verify the authenticity of Ozempic before purchasing it. The warning comes after health alerts issued by Cofepris on March 26 and May 25, 2026, which identified counterfeit batches of this type 2 diabetes medication.
Risk in adulterated medications
The state authorities, through the SSP and Coesprisson, ask for extreme precautions. Fake products require medical supervision for safe use. It is recommended to buy only in authorized pharmacies and avoid social networks, websites, apps, markets or flea markets.
Cofepris detected two adulterated lots: Ozempic 1 mg with lot JS7A925 (secondary packaging, expiration 06/2026) and lot MP5E511 (pen, expiration 07/2025). Also lot PP5K617 of Ozempic 0.25-0.5 mg/dose (expiration 08/2026).
How to protect yourself
The state agency suggests checking packaging, lot numbers, expiration dates and possible signs of tampering. If you find texts in another language or differences in packaging, do not use the product. Stop using it and see a health professional.
To report adverse reactions, write to [email protected] or [email protected], or use the VigiRam platform. Remember: self-medication puts your health at risk. All treatment must be indicated by a doctor.
